Washington D.C. – On the eve of the DNC Future Forum in Houston, DNC Vice Chair Grace Meng has announced the endorsement of Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa. This represents a growing wave of support for Grace from across the country.
Chairman Hinojosa joins members of Congress John Lewis, Judy Chu, Barbara Lee, and Maxine Waters; Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers; Stuart Appelbaum, President of Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union; Peter Ward, President of the Hotel Trades Council; the Chairs of the Democratic Parties in Alabama, New Mexico, New York, Virginia, and Wyoming; the DNC Caucus Chair for Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders; and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO (APALA) in supporting Grace Meng’s re-election.
Hinojosa has spent his career fighting for the rights of migrant farm workers across the nation and serving the people of Texas as an appellate judge, County Judge, and member of the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.
“I’m honored to have Judge Hinojosa’s support in my re-election to Vice Chair,” said Grace Meng. “In light of the President’s recent executive orders, it’s more important than ever that we stand up for the diverse communities that make America strong. I look forward to working with Chairman Hinojosa in the future.”
